Good inexpensive laptops?

I just purchased a new iMac two years ago, and I still use it, great computer i’m on it right now actually, but I’ve gotten attached to mobile computing when im on my iPod touch so ive decided i’m going to get a small computer for myself to accompany my relatively new computer. Does anyone have an idea? I’d like to be able to use another Mac, but the lowest end one is 1000 dollars so I guess its going to be have to be windows.
